In English there are three articles: a, an and the. Article are used before noun.

E.g 01) I own a cat and two dogs.
02) I need a new glass of milk.
An __ Before a singular noun beginning with a vowel sound.
E.g 01) I ate an apple yesterday.
02) We are looking for an apartment.
The __ Before a singular or plural noun.( Particular things)
E.g 01) I saw the elephant at the zoo.
02) I love to sail over the water.
